Alright Alright Alright, attention Walk and Think Audience!
A here, and it’s a special time here tonight.
It is time not to talk the talk, but walk the walk.
Less keyboard hammering and more adventure seeking.
Less planning, researching, and more doing.
I am all packed up and ready to roll out.
Ready to roll out for two nights.
I will be stealth camping for the next 48 hours.
I have packed all the necessary comforts.
It’s a beautiful day in the Carolina’s.
The time is right and there is energy in the air.
The reason this is: I know something other camping folk around here may not know.
What I know is:
Most people will not be out in the woods, as the recent heavy rain has them scared.
They are still worried about the rain we saw last night, complete with power outages.
The rangers that patrol the state park here, they’ve had a rough few days, you know with the flooding and all…
They are real tired, and will be working minimal hours patrolling tonight and tomorrow.
Something like barely 2 hours…
I know this because I called them up and asked about trail conditions.
But the rain is over with, we are much drier.
What I also know: today’s blazing heat has dried the trails to perfection.
No Rangers + Stealth Operative A = Great time to break some new ground.
I will be out there, dialing in gear, checking up in the trails(which have missed), and of course writing and creating future content for this site.
I know there are multiple water sources in the vicinity and I am packing in all my food.
Expect a full write up, with lessons learned and photos, when I return.
I will be getting dropped off tonight at an undisclosed location(all secure here in sector 7), and set up in the dark.
Getting dropped off is great because you don’t need to worry about finding a place to park, or a place to lock up the bike, if you are headed off trail.
Just you, your boots, and your pack. It’s a liberating feeling, which is why I am exited.
I will be hammock camping, and may or may not deploy the tarp.
It’s going to be a time of learning and practice.
Just keeping everyone in the loop.
Stay tuned for the write up.
All the Best.
Update: I have reached my camp site for tonight and set up camp. All is good in the woods. Clear skies, but I pitched the tarp anyway, just for practice. Update 2: I am set up for sleeping in the second night, this time hammock only, no frills. Update 3: I’m back and working on the write up for the trip!
